PANTHER SOFTBALL MINUTES

June 25, 2006

 

Meeting called to order at 7:30pm

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT – Jan Chandler

          We did not rent our fields out in June but have two availabilities in July.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Ken Furlong

          The Golf Sponsorships should read $100 instead of $200 and the Sponsorship

listed as Fairfield Federal should read “Anonymous”.  The current balance is $7,318.43  The cost of the banquet was approximately $900 less than last year.

          Report was read and approved.

COACH’S REPORT – Coach Feesler’s report was read by Coach Henrich

v      The first team camp scheduled for June was cancelled.  We have 8 teams signed up for the second team camp scheduled for July 11 & 12th.

v      Field #1 will be regraded and fill will be added.  Field #2 will be regraded and sod will be added.  Then field mix and diamond mix will be added on top.  The estimate for the fields was $8500 for material, labor and sod and would be done by August 15.  We need to schedule a day for parents and players to work on the fields, adding limestone and painting the interior of all dugouts.  Saturday, August 26 or Sunday, August 27 was suggested.  

v      Three possible destinations in Florida for a spring trip in 2007 were discussed.  We went over some of the positives and drawbacks for each destination.  We need to decide how much the club can spend, how many teams we can take and what the cost would be from each player to cover.  We will need to talk about this further after the budget for next year has been set.  We would like to come up with a plan so players can fundraise/ earn money to help cover their cost.

 

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT – Lori Sanders

The estimates from the General Contractors for the “Hub” building are in.  They range from $160,000 to $200,000.

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT – Rob Cheripko

v      There is no report from the Big Boosters as they are meeting tonight also. 

v      Lori Sanders will sign the necessary forms needed at the bank to make the transition as President for 2007.

v      The budget form for next year needs to be turned into the athletic office by July 15, 2006.

v      Vicki Phillips will check with Berwick to see if it is available for our banquet next year on May 29, 2007.   We will discuss this further at our next meeting.

 

OLD BUSINESS  

The Golf Outing will be September 17, 2006 at Willow Run.  As of tonight, Todd Phillips reported that we have had no new Sponsors sign up.  We scheduled a meeting for July 23, at 8:00 pm to focus on the Golf Outing.

 

NEW BUSINESS

            None at this time.
